Against my better judgement, I went out too late last night and didn’t reach the pillow until 2:30am. Since then and now, Darwin has been up much of the morning, allowing me a mere three hours sleep.

I wouldn’t be worried usually, but today is not my average day. On this morning, I’m supposed to be prepping for the local fair, lunch, the beach, followed by a ride into the city, and the recording and post production of Flash Pulp.

Lastly and most importantly, my hubby needs some of my time to reconnect.

UPDATE: It’s looking mighty stormy, maybe it will rain – maybe we’ll have to try again tomorrow for all of the outdoor activities.

Rain and me are friends today.

I made my best attempt at re-recording The Reds last night.  I continue to have a rotten time trying to make my guitar sound clean. Every trick I know can’t cover up my muddy guitar. The tools I need to fix the problem have been known for a while, but money continues to make what I need elusive.

My plan was to cut some clean guitar and vocal tracks, and then add some more bells and whistles with Fruity Loops. I may just have to sit on my hands a while longer, until the budget allows for more than life’s basics.

Exercise has been high on that list. It relaxes me, and makes me feel better about my choice to clean up the ol’ organs.

The following has been my main source for building my athletic ability. I recommend it highly.

Tomorrow is the last day I will ever smoke a cigarette. I’m not a social smoker, I’m the sort that after one puff, I can’t think of anything else.

In preparation for this major change, I have also started walking daily, and drinking mostly water. I have been calorie counting for a while already, but without physical activity, it has been very slow moving.

I’m optimistic that everything will go well though, and soon I will forget the nasty business of addiction.

However, let me take this opportunity, to publicly pre-apologize to my family for any grumpiness that may ensue during this weekend’s withdrawal.

The picture for this post was taken moments ago, and is here for my future encouragement. Just a reminder that those pretty cigarettes can only leave behind a dirty mess. The last thing I want is fewer moments with my favorites.
